Rob Cain was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Adept in February 2013. On August 27, 2013, he was elected as a director. He has over 25 years of experience in leadership roles within the high tech and capital equipment industries. Mr. Cain’s executive positions include Chief Operating Officer of Telanetix, Senior Vice President of Operations and a Board Member of Avure Technologies, various positions within SCP Global Technologies including Senior Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Engineering, and President of their European division. He previously was an operating partner at Hale Capital Partners. He has lived abroad in China, Germany, and Sweden and has managed businesses spanning over 30 countries. Mr. Cain is also the author of “A Path To Peak Performance”, a field manual for improving the performance of companies and teams. He has an MBA from City University in Bellevue, Washington.
Chief Business Development and Strategy Officer
Terry Hannon joined Adept in August 2013 and was named Vice President of Business Development and Corporate Strategy. On August 27, 2013, the Board appointed him as Chief Business Development and Strategy Officer. Most recently he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of NP Photonics, Inc. Prior to this he held leadership roles as Executive Vice President at XSiL and Vice President and General Manager at Coherent Inc. Terry received his Honors Degree in Physics and Master’s Degree in Optoelectronics from Queen's University, Belfast. He is also a graduate of the MBA at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Chief Financial Officer
Seth Halio joined Adept in October 2013 as Chief Financial Officer. He comes to Adept with over 25 years of senior financial management experience in both public and private venture backed companies. Prior to joining Adept, Mr. Halio held senior level finance positions including CFO at LED Engin, Inc., Novariant, Inc., Diamond Foods, Inc. and Spectra-Physics, Inc. Mr. Halio received his B.S. Degree in Business Administration from Bucknell University, Pennsylvania.
Vice President, Asia and Strategic Programs
Hai Chang was appointed Vice President, Asia and Strategic Programs, in May 2013. He is an Adept veteran with a long history of accomplishments. In his prior roles he was Adept’s Director of Sales, Americas, since July 2012, and was Adept’s Managing Director of Asia Operations at Adept Technology since July 2007. He was also responsible for Adept’s business in the solar, packaging, and disk storage industries in Asia and also General Manager of Adept’s first subsidiary in China, located in Shanghai. He started his career at Adept as a Technical Support Specialist. Mr. Chang holds a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from University of California Berkeley and has completed his M.S. coursework in mechanical engineering with an emphasis on robotics and controls at University of California Los Angeles.
Chief Technical Officer
Deron Jackson was appointed Chief Technical Officer in November 2012. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Jackson served as Manager of Electrical Engineering and a Member of the Technical Staff since February 2004. He joined Adept in June 1998 as a Senior Electrical Engineer. Dr. Jackson has over 18 years of experience designing advanced robotics and control systems. He is co-inventor on six US patents, has authored numerous academic papers, and is a Senior Member of the IEEE. Dr. Jackson holds a Doctoral degree and a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of California at Davis.
Managing Director, Europe
Klaus Kluger joined Adept in July 2014 and was named Managing Director, Europe. Prior to joining Adept Klaus held various senior management positions at Emerson Electric Inc. Most recently he served as Managing Director Germany for the Emerson Network Power business platform, prior to this he was General Manager for Switzerland and Austria of Emerson Process Management. Klaus holds a diploma in Chemistry and a PhD in Physical Chemistry both from Düsseldorf University.
