Rob Cain
President and Chief Executive Officer

Rob Cain was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Adept in February 2013. He has over 25 years of experience in leadership roles within the high tech and capital equipment industries. Mr. Cain’s executive positions include Chief Operating Officer of Telanetix, Senior Vice President of Operations and a Board Member of Avure Technologies, various positions within SCP Global Technologies including Senior Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Engineering, and President of their European division. He is also a Hale Capital Partners Operating Partner. He has lived abroad in China, Germany, and Sweden and has managed businesses spanning over 30 countries. Mr. Cain is also the author of “A Path To Peak Performance”, a field manual for improving the performance of companies and teams. He has an MBA from City University in Bellevue, Washington.

Michael Schradle
Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Michael Schradle joined Adept Technology on November 8, 2012. He has over 20 years of experience as the Chief Financial Officer of both publicly-traded and privately-held technology companies. Prior to joining Adept, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Liquid Robotics, Inc., a venture-backed developer of robotic oceanic vehicles. Previously, Mr. Schradle was Chief Financial Officer of Photon Dynamics, a public company that supplied sophisticated test equipment to the LCD TV manufacturing industry worldwide, and prior to that he was Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Manufacturing and Product Engineering for Micro Linear Incorporated, a public company that developed and marketed semiconductors for the cellular and WiFi markets. Mr. Schradle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Stanford University, a Master’s degree in Engineering from UCLA, and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Deron Jackson
Chief Technical Officer

Deron Jackson was appointed Chief Technical Officer in November 2012. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Jackson served as Manager of Electrical Engineering and a Member of the Technical Staff since February 2004. He joined Adept in June 1998 as a Senior Electrical Engineer. Dr. Jackson has over 18 years of experience designing advanced robotics and control systems. He is co-inventor on six US patents, has authored numerous academic papers, and is a Senior Member of the IEEE. Dr. Jackson holds a Doctoral degree and a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of California at Davis.

Glenn Hewson
Senior Vice President of Global Marketing

Glenn Hewson was named Adept’s Senior Vice President of Global Marketing in March 2013. He has over 25 years of marketing, product line management and business development experience in the high tech and industrial capital equipment industries. His career spans mature companies, start-ups, coordinated business units and global organizations. Prior to Adept he served as Vice President, Global Marketing and company officer for Avure Technologies. He began his career at IBM, and has served in senior management roles at Gupta Corporation, Peregrine Systems and at several Gores Group portfolio companies. Glenn holds a degree in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.

Hai Chang
Vice President, Asia and Strategic Programs

Hai Chang was appointed Vice President, Asia and Strategic Programs, in May 2013. He is an Adept veteran with a long history of accomplishments. In his prior roles he was Adept’s Director of Sales, Americas, since July 2012, and was Adept’s Managing Director of Asia Operations at Adept Technology since July 2007. He was also responsible for Adept’s business in the solar, packaging, and disk storage industries in Asia and also General Manager of Adept’s first subsidiary in China, located in Shanghai. He started his career at Adept as a Technical Support Specialist. Mr. Chang holds a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from University of California Berkeley and has completed his M.S. coursework in mechanical engineering with an emphasis on robotics and controls at University of California Los Angeles.
